Budget Bal
About the App
Budget Bal is a very simple application for balancing one's budget.
It runs on Mac OS X and iOS.
I wrote this app to fill my own wants.  I'm sure there are plenty of budget and expense apps available, but none of them met my specific requirements.

Is it right for me?
The main design goal is to have a list of items with a budget goal for each item.

Other goals are:
* Be able to balance one's account
* Track every transaction
* Maxed out items can spill over into chosen overage item
* Synchronize budget across multiple devices
* Minimalistic

Not part of the design goals:
* Credit Cards -- they are just another item and have no special support
* Multple accounts - each document assumes only one account, so multiple accounts are only supported by using multiple documents.

The app is geared towards the U.S.  I'm not familiar enough with other systems in the world to determine if the app will work for you if you are outside the U.S.

I, the author, do NOT like white backgrounds.  Most software has defaulted to this look, and if you're a fan of it, then you may not like this app.  I like colors, and I like a black background.

Features

  • Export to CSV
  • iCloud Synchronization
  • Payday trigger - works best for somewhat steady income
  • Overage amounts - when maximum item amount is exceeded, the overage can automatically be transferred into another item
  • Supports QuickLook and Spotlight
